Frédérique Le Duc-Moreau is a composer originally from Montreal (Canada), based in Chicago, whose artistic range extends across concert music, music for stage performances, dance productions, and various visual media such as video games and cinema.
As a film composer, Frédérique aims to enrich storytelling through music by combining her artistic vision with technical expertise. With a strong foundation in concert music composition, she integrates new textures and extended techniques into her scores, creating distinctive and personal soundscapes. Her focus is on elevating both orchestral and hybrid scores by blending the traditions of film music and concert music, bringing together her two creative worlds.
Throughout her career, Frédérique's compositions have been performed by renowned ensembles including the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, the Molinari Quartet, the Mémoires Quartet, the Quartango ensemble, and the Ensemble contemporain de Montréal (ECM+). Collaborating with diverse artists on films and video games, her music has been showcased at numerous festivals across Canada, the United States, and Europe.
Frédérique holds a Bachelor's degree in Viola Performance and an Undergraduate Diploma in Instrumental Composition at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. She furthered her studies with a dual Graduate Diploma from the Université de Montréal (Canada) and the KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent (Belgium). Currently, she’s pursuing an MFA in Composition for the Screen at Columbia College Chicago, named the world’s best film music program in 2022, 2023, and 2025 by The Hollywood Reporter.
